Walking

Just in the past few days O has been doing so much better with his walking! And, he often looks back on us and smiles because he knows he is doing something good. Today he even got embarrassed afterwards and put his head on the ground. It was so cute but we didn't get it on camera. Take a look at what we did get...sorry the video is the wrong way.

The highchair and walking

So the highchair is a place O spends a lot of his time.....getting all full and messy!!

And sometimes even taking a quick shut eye.

Here is video of Owen walking. He only takes about 2 or 3 steps at a time and right now crawling is faster for him but he is working on it. He makes us very proud!

He loves to dance!!

We went to Austin this past week as an end of summer trip.

The backyard

So Brian finished the backyard with the help of his sidekick Carson. He leveled it out and added bricks to one area of the yard. The whole purpose of this was to alleviate "Lake Mansfield" that forms when we get rain and to make the backyard level for a swingset for O. Stay tuned for that project :)

Leveling out the Backyard

Here are some pictures of our latest project-leveling out the backyard. Owen decided he would come out and help Daddy and Uncle Carson. I'll post more pics when we have the grass in.

First Steps

Owen Q. has hit that age where he learns something new every single day. I asked him yesterday, "where is the fan?" and he points his little finger up at the fan or tilts his whole head to look at the fan. He dances with both arms shaking away when he hears music. He even did it in his carseat this morning with the radio on. He loves to look in the backyard and watch the birds eat birdseed. I kept telling him birdies, birdies and then he started say "ba ba". He loves reading. His favorite book is Brown Bear. And, then last night I'm cooking dinner and I open the fridge and like always he darts in there to grab something he is not suppossed to have. I pull him out with one finger and then he just stands there. So, I turn around to go back to the stove and he starts WALKING after me!! He took 3 steps! He is by no means a walker yet but he did take his first steps and it was amazing!! I am so blessed to be able to spend so much time with my little man and not miss anything. He is incredible and constantly keeps me laughing! I love this mommy gig!

Kemah

We went to Kemah today and although we were melting we were still smiling!! Also, I thought I'd share some new things O has been doing.
1. He likes beans, rice, cheeze-its and chicken salad.
2. He throws a ball.
3. He will give you a toy but then expects you to give it right back to him..so he is semi sharing.
4. He has mastered the waving bye-bye.
5. He is a flirt! He knocks over the boys so he can be next to the girls!
6. He is Mr. Social. Everywhere we go he has to stop and chat to someone!
7. He points at things.
8. And the best thing ever...he gives kisses!!!!
